- I have to explain everything to AI again, every time.
- AI isn't saving me any time.
- AI ignores what I told it.
- I lost work I'd built up.
- I get a lot done with AI, but I know I could be doing more.
Collaborate with AI Get Your Attention Back
Over five weeks, we'll meet live and I'll show you how to give your AI access to the tools where your work already lives. I call this access engineering, and it's how my HQ Approach protects your attention.
Ten live sessions with R.J. Nestor·Nov 17 to Dec 15·About 30 places
Every conversation starts from scratch
AI is a big stupid baby that knows everything about the history of mankind and nothing about who you are or what you do. So you end up as the drone in the middle, carrying your work to it one paste at a time.
Three ways to work with AI
-
You tell it what to do. Prompt engineering.
You explain your work in every chat.
-
You give it your information. Context engineering.
You write it down once, then keep it current and hand it over each time.
-
You give it access to your work. Access engineering.
Your AI reaches the work itself.
Your job isn't to get AI the information. It's to get it the access.
None of this is hard to do. Most people just don't know it's possible.
Your attention goes where you choose
Once your AI can reach your work, it can build scripts for everything that happens the same way every time.
AI with the right set of scripted tools is impossible to beat.
We'll take one idea a week
Each week starts with a session where I teach and show you my own work. The second is a collaboration session for questions and conversation.
-
Access over instructions.
Why every new AI starts from scratch, and how to give it access to your work instead of feeding it.
-
Me, my AI, or a script?
Your attention and your AI's reasoning are both scarce, so we sort out which work belongs to which—and what work can be scripted.
-
Spec, action, record.
Everything is an action. A spec says the outcome you want, a record says what's already true, and the gap between them defines the action.
-
The record writes itself.
A record nobody has to keep up, and the safety of undo, so you can trust your AI with more.
-
Let your AI cook.
I build my system one wish at a time. I tell my AI something I wish I had, it makes it, and I live with it and improve it as I go. You'll learn to work the same way, until you're handing your AI whole pieces of work.
On the last day, everyone shows what's changed for them.
What you'll be able to do
- Give your AI access to the tools you already use
- Turn recurring work into scripts
- Turn everything you're working on into actions, each with a spec and a record
- Keep a record that writes itself

R.J. Nestor
I've worked with AI every day since ChatGPT arrived in late 2022, and with Claude Code since June 2025. This course is built from everything I've learned running my own work, and helping my clients run theirs. Don't think of me as the person who “tells you how to work.” I'm the person who shows you what's possible, so you learn how to think about your own work with AI.
If you've ever been in one of my cohorts, you'll recognize the shape: a small group, learning from me and from each other. If you haven't, you're in for a treat.
“Seeing how R.J. just whipped up systems on the fly showed me I can start small and let it evolve. Before this, I felt I needed to understand every detail before starting.”
“Before, you just had to accept friction. That was what using apps was. Now you can be on the lookout for friction, because you can get rid of it.”
“The junk is out of my head, and I'm not spending hours and hours on maintenance.”
“It reduces my context switching, which is worth so much to me.”
$98
One price for everyone. No discounts, no early bird.
I used to price things one way and then discount them, but I'm done with that. The people this is for will see what it's worth, so there's one price, and it's the same for everyone.
- About 30 places for people from outside Runs on HQ, so the room stays small.
- If you're in Runs on HQ, the course is part of your membership and costs you nothing.
Do I need to be technical?
No. Your AI handles anything technical, and you work with it in plain English.
Which AI do I need?
Claude or Codex, either one. The $20 a month plan is enough to start—and may be enough forever, depending how you set up your HQ environment.
Do I need HQ for Action?
HQ for Action is my starter kit for task management in an HQ environment. You don't need it for this course unless you want that foundation. If you do, buying the course gets you HQ for Action for $48 instead of $97.
What if I miss a session?
Every session is recorded, and you keep the recordings after the course ends.
I'm a Runs on HQ member. What do I do?
Sign in from this page and press Register. It's part of your membership.
Why only about 30 places?
I want the collaboration sessions to stay a conversation.
In five weeks, your AI can reach your work for itself, and your attention goes where you choose. I'd love to have you with me.
